YOUR RECORDINGS, YOUR CHOICE

Privacy policy.

Effective date: October 11, 2026

Aladdin Video Rescue is operated by Mohammad Al.Wattar. This policy covers the desktop app, this website, and optional expert recovery and support services. Contact support@aladdin-wattar.com with privacy questions or requests.

Local video repair

Local repair processes the damaged recording and reference file on your Mac and saves a repaired copy to the location you choose. We do not receive these recordings through local repair. You can use local repair offline without signing in or enabling optional online features. Your original files, repaired copies, and locally stored app preferences remain under your control.

Optional expert recovery

If you choose expert recovery, we collect the video you select, your email address, and file metadata including its name, size, type, and last-modified time. We also store a request reference, an anonymous Firebase user identifier, submission and update times, your consent version, recovery status, and operator notes. An operator may upload a repaired preview associated with your request.

We use this information to assess and attempt recovery, provide previews and progress updates, and respond to you. A human operator will need to view your uploaded video during recovery. Uploading is optional and requires your consent. Do not upload content you are not authorized to share.

Support requests and feedback

When you submit a message in the app or on this website, we collect its type, subject, message, email address, anonymous user identifier, and submission time. We use these details to answer questions, investigate problems, and consider feedback. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you include in that correspondence. Please avoid including passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

Anonymous sign-in and local storage

Online features use Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous identity; you do not need to choose a password. The app stores authentication state locally so it can retrieve your recovery requests. Your contact email is for correspondence and is not a login. Clearing app data may remove your access to previous requests, but does not itself delete server records.

Analytics and diagnostics

The Mac App Store build disables optional usage analytics. Other builds may offer Google Analytics for Firebase, off by default and enabled only with your choice. Those events describe repair starts and outcomes and exclude video contents, filenames, paths, and raw error messages. Google may process device and network information when analytics are enabled. You can turn optional analytics off in Privacy & diagnostics. The desktop app does not currently include crash reporting.

This website uses optional Google Analytics cookies only after you accept them. We measure public-page views and App Store link clicks. Support and admin pages do not load the tracker. Google may process cookie identifiers, browser and device information, and network information. We disable advertising signals and omit URL query strings and fragments from our page-view events. Use Cookie preferences to accept or decline analytics, or withdraw your choice. Analytics cookies are configured for up to six months; analytics records follow the retention settings in our Google Analytics property. Hosting and online service providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request details, and service logs to deliver and protect the service.

Service providers and access

We use Google Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Firebase Hosting for the online service. Authorized administrators can access recovery and support requests; video access is provided to operators for recovery and to the requesting app for previews. We do not use uploaded videos or support messages for advertising.

Google processes information to provide these services; see Firebase privacy information. Information may be processed outside your country. Recovery cleanup functions run in the United States. Access controls reduce unauthorized access, but no storage or transmission system can guarantee absolute security.

Retention and deletion

Automatic cleanup runs hourly. Service outages or retries may delay deletion beyond the retention deadline. Cancelling recovery does not immediately delete the upload. Each preview has its own 30-day period, and a recently uploaded file may outlive its request record until that period ends.

Soft-delete recovery is disabled for new deletions in our recovery storage bucket. Files soft-deleted before that setting changed may remain recoverable for their original seven-day period. The automated cleanup does not delete copies on your Mac, files already downloaded by an operator, email correspondence, or Firebase Authentication identities. Operator copies and email correspondence require separate handling; contact us to request their deletion. Anonymous authentication identities remain until separately deleted. Service-provider operational logs follow the provider’s applicable settings and policies.

Your choices and requests

You can keep all repair activity local, decline uploads and analytics, and stop using online features at any time. To request access, correction, or deletion of your information or anonymous account, email support@aladdin-wattar.com, preferably from the address supplied with your request, and include your request reference if available. We may ask for information needed to verify your request and avoid disclosing or deleting someone else’s data. Privacy rights and any required exceptions depend on applicable law.
